A grand jury in Northern California has indicted a Sacramento man who authorities describe as the "kingpin" of a sophisticated international phishing scheme that used phony websites to collect personal information in order to obtain Wal-Mart credit cards and then charge more than $400,000 worth of merchandise and gift cards. Tien Truong Nguyen is charged with multiple counts of conspiracy, computer fraud, aggravated identity theft, and credit card fraud. Several others arrested in the case have already pleaded guilty.
According to a new survey, security and price are the most important factors when choosing a domain registrar. Security was rated most important by 37 percent of survey respondents. Price was rated most important by 35 percent.
