The rapid growth of women’s entrepreneurship over the past decade speaks to the power of free enterprise. The opportunities for women to strike out on their own have grown exponentially because of technology. Digital e-commerce, search, and social media platforms make it possible for small businesses to find customers worldwide, promote their products and services at a fraction of the cost of traditional marketing avenues, and fill orders quickly. Yet, some criticize the tech companies that create the infrastructure, which so many entrepreneurs depend upon, as being anticompetitive. How can entrepreneurship be thriving even as Big Tech is allegedly quashing competition? What is the standard for breaches of antitrust law?
