Today, NetChoice condemned President Donald Trump’s executive order signed in response to Twitter adding fact-check labels to his tweets on mail-in voting.
“The President is trampling the first amendment by threatening the fundamental free speech rights of social media platforms,” said Steve DelBianco, President of NetChoice. “Conservatives should be very afraid of future administrations following President Trump’s example to bully social media platforms into suppressing political speech.”
“By harassing America’s tech industry, the Administration emboldens foreign governments to control online expression,” continued DelBianco. “Conservatives have truly lost their way if they believe that the government should dictate the terms of online political speech.”
