Today Sen. Amy Klobuchar held a press conference on her antitrust legislation S. 2992 talking about the challenges facing S.2992’s advancement.
“Today’s press conference from Sen. Klobuchar failed to prove that she has the momentum or the votes to advance her antitrust pet project.” said NetChoice Vice President Carl Szabo. “Senators on both sides of the aisle know that S. 2992 will raise inflation, harm core products and services we use, and worsen real problems Americans face every day.”
“Senator Klobuchar is right on one thing – there are many, many concerned parties opposed to her proposal. From cybersecurity experts, to economists, to Democratic Senators to the Wall Street Journal, it’s clear regardless of ideology, there’s many smart people who know the American Innovation and Choice Online Act is bad for Americans.
“Frankly, if Sen. Klobuchar had momentum behind S. 2992 as she claims she does, she wouldn’t need to host a press conference about it – she would have already moved it out of the Senate.”
