WASHINGTON—Today, NetChoice President and CEO Steve DelBianco announced that after nearly 14 years of dedicated effort and a track record of success, our Vice President & General Counsel Carl Szabo will be departing NetChoice for a new opportunity. His last day will be on Friday, September 20.
“I am profoundly grateful to Carl for helping NetChoice grow from a 2-man team to become America’s top tech trade association over the past 14 years. Thanks to Carl’s dedication to advancing our mission, NetChoice now has a best-in-class government affairs team and a renowned litigation center to carry our cases forward,” said DelBianco. “From state capitols to the U.S. Supreme Court, Carl’s legal skills and leadership have been invaluable to NetChoice, and we are thankful he chose to spend over a decade growing our team.”
It is hard to feature all of the highlights hits from Carl’s tenure at NetChoice, but to highlight a few:
- In 2020, POLITICO said “Szabo is the outspoken vice president and top lawyer for Silicon Valley’s most aggressive lobbying presence in Washington,” a description NetChoice is quite proud of.
- Washingtonian Magazine named Carl a “tech titan” in its 2023 and 2024 editions.
- In February 2024, Bloomberg wrote, “Over the past decade, Szabo and his colleagues have transformed NetChoice, their small, right-leaning lobby known for its brash tactics, into Silicon Valley’s litigation powerhouse.”
