Biden’s Antitrust Regulators Waste More Taxpayer Dollars & Resources With Another Frivolous Lawsuit

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Department of Justice announced this afternoon it is suing Google for alleged anticompetitive practices in the digital advertising market.

Rather than pursuing companies that are clear examples of monopolies under the Consumer Welfare Standard, Biden’s antitrust regulators seem focused on wasting taxpayer resources on frivolous lawsuits that lack evidence.

“This is another case from the Biden DOJ and FTC of an antitrust case that lacks the facts and the law,” said Carl Szabo, NetChoice Vice President and General Counsel. “Google’s market share of advertising has actually been decreasing. When it comes to digital ads, prices are at historic lows, and quality has never been higher. This is clear evidence of a highly competitive marketplace. At the same time, they are seeing incredible competition from new startups and even Microsoft’s multi-billion dollar investment in ChatGPT.”
