WASHINGTON—This morning, the House Oversight Committee will hold a hearing on “Protecting Speech from Government Interference and Social Media Bias,” focused on how the government influenced moderation decisions at Twitter before Elon Musk bought the company.
“NetChoice commends Congress for examining the serious problem of government interfering with private speech online,” said NetChoice Vice President and General Counsel Carl Szabo. “We hope the hearing will bring to light more information on how the government worked to suppress speech online it didn’t like and jawbone private businesses.”
