NetChoice Amicus Brief Supporting First Choice Women’s Resource Center in First Choice Women’s Resource Center v. Platkin

NetChoice filed an amicus brief in the U.S. Supreme Court in support of First Choice Women’s Resource Center in the case First Choice Women’s Resource Center v. Platkin. First Choice asks the Court to resolve a split between the Fifth and Third Circuits about when a target of a state investigation can be heard in court to push back against an overly broad investigatory request.

NetChoice’s brief urges the Court to rule for First Choice and emphasizes that state attorneys general can currently use their broad power to bully disfavored speakers and organizations. The misuse of these broad powers chills protected speech and associational rights.
