WASHINGTON—This afternoon, the House of Representatives passed a Congressional Review Act resolution to overturn the Biden Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)’s eleventh-hour overreach into the digital payment market.
NetChoice praises Congress for approving it and stopping yet another burdensome measure from Biden’s overzealous bureaucracy. NetChoice and TechNet sued the CFPB over this rule, which took effect on January 9, 2025—right before Biden left office.
“We applaud Congress for sticking up for American innovators over power-hungry Biden bureaucrats,” said Chris Marchese, NetChoice’s Director of Litigation. “This underscores why agencies must not exceed their lawful authority and follow the law as Congress wrote it.”
This comes after the Senate previously approved the measure. Now, it heads to President Donald Trump’s desk to be signed into, and NetChoice enthusiastically encourages him to sign it.
