TALLAHASSEE—Today, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis vetoed HB 1, a bill that if implemented would have created an ID for the internet, replaced parents with government and Silicon Valley, and represented a data collection on a scale unacceptable for citizens in the free state of Florida.
“NetChoice applauds Gov. DeSantis for defending Floridians, their families and the U.S. Constitution,” said Carl Szabo, NetChoice Vice President & General Counsel. “We hope to work with Gov. DeSantis on constitutional solutions to keep all Floridians and their children safe online.”
