WASHINGTON—Yesterday, NetChoice submitted comments to the Department of Justice’s newly established Anticompetitive Regulations Task Force, calling for urgent regulatory reform in the energy sector to support the nation’s rapidly expanding artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure demands.
NetChoice identified several regulatory obstacles that suppress competition, reduce capacity, jeopardize reliability and deter innovation in the energy sector.
We highlighted how outdated regulatory frameworks are creating harmful barriers to energy development, precisely at the moment when America faces unprecedented electricity demand. Without expeditious action, the United States risks losing its competitive edge in emerging technologies like AI and quantum computing to countries with more flexible rules.
“NetChoice applauds the DOJ Task Force’s mission to eliminate unnecessary red tape that hinders free market competition. This is a significant opportunity to address regulatory overreach that has stifled innovation and limited growth in America’s digital economy,” said Amy Bos, NetChoice Director of State & Federal Affairs. “These swift, targeted regulatory reforms can unleash significant economic growth, foster innovation, enhance consumer welfare and help President Trump achieve his Golden Age agenda.”
