NetChoice Amicus Brief in Support of Anthropic in Concord Music Group v. Anthropic

NetChoice, along with the Computer & Communications Industry Association and AI Progress, filed an amicus brief supporting Anthropic’s motion for summary judgment. The brief argues that the purpose of copyright protection is to promote progress rather than instill protectionism. Training AI models is protected by the fair use exception to copyright because it enables new, transformative works to be created—reinforcing the purpose of copyright protection while still enabling new forms of First Amendment expression.
