The App Store “Accountability” Act Takes Power From Parents

Digital safety and security should come first—but the App Store “Accountability” Act misses the mark.

In America, parents are in charge of their families. The App Store “Accountability” Act takes away power from parents.

Parents should get to decide if their child’s age is shared with an app.

Parents should be the ones to attest to their kids ages, rather than forcing adults and children to hand over their IDs.

Age signals should only be sent to apps that are age-restricted (like dating apps or gambling), or where there are different experiences for kids. Your calculator doesn’t need to know your age.

Tell Congress to protect your family’s privacy and parental authority, and give parents that choice.
