NetChoice Applauds President Trump Orders to Unleash ‘Golden Age’ of American Innovation and Stop Federal Censorship

WASHINGTON—On his first day back in office, President Donald Trump issued executive orders to unshackle America’s innovation economy and end federal government censorship.

His orders rolling back regulations on U.S. energy production and ending Biden’s artificial intelligence (AI) red tape wishlist are critical for America’s global leadership in technological development.

Upon returning to office, President Trump showed that America is ready to lead in tech and innovation again. By repealing Biden’s restrictive rules on energy production and AI development, the president is steering America to remain dominant in creating the best technology in the world. NetChoice strongly commends President Trump’s leadership on these critical issues for America’s future,” said NetChoice President & CEO Steve DelBianco.

Additionally, President Trump’s order to restore free speech and end federal censorship is a victory for the First Amendment and all Americans.

President Trump’s mandate to stop federal censorship of Americans’ free speech could not come at a more critical time. Around the world, governments are suppressing speech both on and offline. With this action, America is showing that we are taking the path of freedom that has always distinguished our people and allowed us to have unique success,” said Robert Winterton, NetChoice Vice President of Public Affairs. “But this cannot be the end: Congress must follow President Trump’s leadership and swiftly reintroduce and pass the Protecting Speech from Government Interference Act. This critical legislation would ensure no future President or bureaucrats can coerce social media sites to suppress lawful American speech. NetChoice applauds President Trump’s commitment to protecting open discourse in the digital age, and we urge Congress to pass this bill to ensure American speech is fully protected from government interference in the future.
