WASHINGTON—Today, NetChoice Vice President of Litigation and Legal Strategy Christopher Marchese is pleased to welcome Corbin Barthold to the NetChoice Litigation Center as a Senior Litigation Fellow. In this role, Barthold will defend online free speech, litigate complex appeals, and ensure that the First Amendment fully protects emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Barthold is a seasoned counselor with deep experience in pivotal, multi-faceted constitutional litigation against motivated opposing counsel. He brings a wide-ranging appellate practice to the Litigation Center and has emerged in recent years as one of the most prominent voices in national First Amendment debates. His addition strengthens NetChoice’s ability to litigate the most consequential free speech cases facing the internet today—and to ensure that courts hear from skilled advocates who understand the constitutional stakes of regulating emerging technologies.

Prior to joining NetChoice, Barthold clerked in federal district court and litigated at Browne George Ross LLP (now Ellis George LLP), where he rose from associate to partner. He went on to practice constitutional, administrative, and antitrust law at Washington Legal Foundation, and most recently served as Director of Appellate Litigation at TechFreedom, where he also hosted the Tech Policy Podcast. His writing on law, technology, and culture has appeared in City Journal, The Bulwark, Reason, Lawfare, Techdirt, Pirate Wires, and The Daily Beast. Barthold received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
