Background

Krista Chavez is the Senior Communications Manager on the Public Affairs team. In her role, she supports key priorities through public relations, external communications, and various other marketing efforts at the organization.

Krista joined NetChoice from the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, the premier university-based research center focused on free market ideas. There, she spent over four years in various capacities working with Mercatus research programs as a communications representative to help bridge the gap between academic ideas and real-world problems. 

She is a graduate of American University in Washington, D.C., where she earned a BA in Communications, Law, Economics, and Government with a Justice Minor. She currently lives in Arlington, Virginia, where she enjoys running, cooking, reading everything from the classics to war studies, and exploring Northern Virginia’s best trails, historical sites, and restaurants.
